“At about 4 a.m. Friday, July 19, a group of 47
undocumented aggressive migrants attempted to illegally enter the United States in three waves via the Pharr International Bridge. Ignoring commands to stop, the group suddenly rushed the temporary barricades, bent metal poles and disabled the concertina wire affixed to the barrier,” CBP said. The migrants ignored commands to “stop,” bypassed blockade structures, and confronted immigration agents. Several male migrants reportedly assaulted officers, and even attempted to grab their “protective devices,” according to KGBT-TV. Immigration authorities deployed tear gas and pepper balls to stop the attack.
In all, authorities apprehended 16 individuals, two of which were charged with interference, KGBT reported. Mexican authorities apprehended the remaining migrants. Several CBP officers were injured in the attack, but are expected to be OK, the New York Post reported.
We can thank, in part, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. As a designated “host,” LIRS played a key role in publicizing, organizing and participating in demonstrations against President Trump’s deportation enforcement actions targeting some 2,000 illegal immigrants and their families who have ignored removal orders or skipped out on court hearings, including their most recent outing in Puget Sound area (I wish they were in the Sound ). Brazen hatred of cops, Border Patrol and ICE agents were on full display at the open borders protests fronted by LIRS and other left-wing groups, including Code Pink, CASA and CAIR. Marchers echoed the “Close the Concentration Camps” rhetoric of Congressional Brat Pack Rep. Alexandria Occasional Cortex.
They carried signs declaring “ICE=Gestapo” and “Free the People, Burn the Camps.” It’s not just idle rhetoric. Antifa thug Willem Van Spronsen, armed with a rifle and incendiary devices, attempted to set a Tacoma ICE facility on fire on Saturday before being shot dead. He has been hailed as a “hero” and a “martyr” by fellow “progressive” travelers, while sympathetic mainstream reporters and activists look the other way. The president and CEO of LIRS, Krishanti Vignarajah, is a Sri Lankan refugee and former Michelle Obama policy director who led the Lights for Liberty event in Washington, D.C. She argues that Americans are obligated to open the floodgates at the southern border and vehemently opposes what she calls “militant border enforcement”, which means any enforcement!
According to Michelle Malkin, “LIRS sounds like just the kind of extremist group you’d expect to be kept afloat by billionaire George Soros’ big bucks. But hold on to your wallets and your American flags, folks: In 2016, LIRS relied on $64.7 million in government subsidies from taxpayers — that’s you and me — to fund a whopping 96.2% of its budget. LIRS is one of nine agencies that receives tens of millions of dollars to resettle refugees from around the world. Disguised as compassion and Christian morality, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service’s activism is a profit-seeking machine — even as the agency has been plagued by allegations of mismanagement that prompted an external probe two years ago. Last week, the group unveiled yet another initiative: ‘United Sanctuaries of America.’
“Bottom line: Open borders equals cash flow: more aliens, more grants, bigger Paychecks. Exit question: Will a single American elected official please stand up and challenge the continued public funding of this racket bent on hoisting foreign flags and alien interests above our own?” “But, isn’t this Christian charity?” one might ask?
Here’s a partial list of other organizations LIRS partners with to undermine our border sovereignty: League of United Latin American Citizens, New Sanctuary Coalition, Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Washington Office on Latin America, Mary’s Center and Hispanic Federation, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran, Church of the Reformation, Christ Lutheran, Christ the Servant Lutheran. Lest you be fooled by the names, and think this is biblical compassion, taking Christ’s admonitions about strangers, widows and orphans and applying them, or a bunch of Hispanic US citizens wanting more illegal migrants to come in, let me disabuse you of those mistaken notions: “And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Matthew 25:39-40.
This separation of the “sheep” and the “goats”, regarding the final judgment, is a continuation of Jesus’ parable of the talents and the slothful servant. He is referring to the “least of these my brothers,” that is, members of His church universal. Read the entire 25th chapter of Matthew rather than taking a sentence out of context. Jesus is not saying “condone breaking your laws.” Further, look at the behavior of those “compassionate” demonstrators. As far as the five Hispanic-sounding organizations above being representative of our Hispanic citizens, most of those citizens are opposed to open borders and want even stricter enforcement.
Like Michelle Malkin says, it about the money (and the votes). Compassion? Important for the real refugees, but recently the chief of DHS testified before Congress that some adult males are buying babies on there way north. One of the most egregious cases was that of a 51 year old male who bought a six month baby in Guatemala for $80, hoping to gain admittance to our country as an asylum seeking family by posing as a father with his baby. How compassionate is that? Would that man and others like him have done that if he knew there was no chance of gaming our system? He wasted his $80. DNA testing revealed that the baby was not related to him. DNA testing has become routine in our refugee vetting procedures. Whether or not the man Ilhan Omar married in 2009 was her biological brother, we’ll never know for sure. All we know for sure is that he’s Somali, and could not get into the United States (from the U.K.) is because the program that existed in 2008 to admit Somalis to the US if they were related to an American citizen (which she was at the time) was discontinued because around 87% of family ties claimed, ESPECIALLY among Somalis, were proven fraudulent by DNA testing.
